COVID-19 Vaccine Eligibility

UW Medicine is scheduling COVID-19 vaccine appointments in accordance with state guidelines. We are currently scheduling those who meet the eligibility requirements of Phase 1B and 1A.

Appointments may not always be available due to high demand.

You must have an eCare account to schedule an appointment online. Instructions on how to create an eCare account and schedule an appointment for a COVID-19 vaccination are below.

Eligibility requirements for Phase 1B

Those eligible to receive the vaccine include:

  • Individuals who are age 65 years and older
  • Individuals who are age 50 years and older in a multigenerational (two or more generations) household, defined as:
    • People who are 50 and older AND are not able to live independently, who either:
      • Are receiving long-term care from a paid or unpaid caregiver, or
      • Are living with someone who works outside the home
    • People who are 50 and older AND are living with and caring for a grandchild, niece or nephew

Please note that no individuals under age 50 are eligible, and no individuals age 50 and older caring for a partner, friend or child (unless that child is a grandchild, niece or nephew) are eligible.

Eligibility requirements for Phase 1A

Those eligible to receive the vaccine include:

  • High-risk healthcare workers in healthcare settings
  • High-risk first responders
  • Long-term care facility residents
  • All other workers at risk in healthcare settings

How to make a COVID-19 vaccine appointment

An appointment is required to receive the COVID-19 vaccine; we will not accept walk-ins. We expect long wait times for both online and phone scheduling. We also have a limited number of appointments available based on vaccine supply and location capacity. We appreciate your patience.

Book in eCare

If you meet eligibility requirements, you may schedule your appointment through the UW Medicine patient portal known as eCare. If you are new to UW Medicine and don’t have an eCare account, you can create one by following the instructions below.
